Karen's training system is the best I have encountered in my 23 years of working with runners and other athletes. — Owen Anderson, PhD, Running Research News

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you have class in inclement weather?
If the weather is just "uncomfortable", but not dangerous, class will go on as scheduled - warm rain, cold temperatures, wind. If the weather is hazardous, a decision will be made to go under a shelter, go to an off-site location, or stay home. You'll be notified by email as early as possible. You can always call to be sure.

Will you reschedule cancelled workouts?
We will add in as many extra workouts as the schedule allows. Sometimes you will have to come to other classes to replace the cancelled classes. We will always send you a workout to do at home on cancelled days.

Do I need to exercise on the days I don't have class?
Yes! Your instructor will give you assignments for most of those days, but you'll need a few true rest days!

Can I make-up a missed class?
Yes. You can come to any scheduled class within the month. Please email to let us know that you're coming, so we can prepare for you!

Do you give refunds for missed workouts?
No. You're making a commitment to come to class! You may choose to make-up a missed workout in another class, or you may do a workout on your own. With the membership plans, you automatically get at least one extra workout each month.

How do I find out about class announcements or cancellations?
You'll receive an email for last minute cancellations and messages. All other announcements will be posted on the website.

Do I need to bring equipment to class?
No. We'll bring the fitness equipment required for your workout - mats, weights, medicine balls, bands, BOSUs, Swiss Balls, TRX Suspension Systems, agility ladders, stability cushions, etc. We have it all.

I'm a beginner. Will the workouts be too difficult for me?
No. Even though everyone in the group will train together, the exercises will be modified for each person. You'll receive thorough instructions and explanations, so you have a clear understanding of the technique and purpose of each activity. Your workouts will become more challenging as you improve to increase your fitness as quickly and safely as possible.

I'm already really fit. Will I be challenged?
Yes. We've trained elite athletes. Your assignments will be as tough as you are!

Will I burn a lot of calories?
Yes! You will incinerate calories during your workouts AND for hours after you're done!

How long will it take for me to see results?
You'll start to see results in six weeks. It all depends on your level of commitment and effort.

How will I know if I'm making progress?
Your clothes will fit better, you'll have more energy, you'll master more skills, and you'll start getting compliments! You'll, also, have the option to do fitness testing each session. It may take a while to reach your ultimate goal, so we'll keep you motivated along the way to keep you on track.

What if I have questions between workouts?
Send us an email. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

What do I need to bring to class?
You'll always need a water bottle and a towel. On hot days, we recommend sunscreen. You may, also, want to have a recovery snack and dry clothes packed in your car. Fit to Run students should have a watch with a chronograph and an interval timer. Don't bring valuables unless you have a safe place to stash them!

What should I wear?
Wear the appropriate shoes for the activity - running shoes for Fit to Run and cross trainers or running shoes for Boot Camp Challenge. Your clothing should be comfortable and made of fast drying fabrics. Most of the exercise apparel sold today works well. Dress in layers, so you can remove pieces as you get warm.
